When Andrew first reached out to me about capturing his proposal to Mia in Austin, I was all in! As the day got closer, though, the forecast became less and less promising. Every time we checked, the chance of rain seemed to climb higher. Safe to say, we were both keeping a close eye on the weather and brainstorming backup plans just in case.


Thanks to Austin’s unpredictable weather, we didn’t finalize the exact location until the last hour: Hotel Ella! Thankfully, the rain held off long enough until the moment Andrew asked the most important question, and everything came together perfectly. As soon as we started taking engagement photos, the rain finally arrived. Instead of putting a damper on the evening, it made everything feel even more magical! The soft rain, cloudy skies, and cozy moments between Andrew and Mia created the most romantic atmosphere, making these photos feel straight out of a movie.


I take proposals very seriously around here! I’ll do whatever I can to help make sure everything comes together smoothly, whether that means scouting locations ahead of time, tracking Austin’s ever-changing weather, or helping create a backup plan (or three). Seeing everything fall into place and getting to capture such a meaningful moment is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer!
