Madi & Will's engagement session at the Zilker Botanical Gardens in Austin, TX felt straight out of my perfect spring photography dreams! We spent the morning exploring the lush greenery, artistic structures, and magical hidden walkways, while celebrating their recent engagement and sweet romance. The weather could not have shown up any better for us. After a week of rain, we were treated to a beautiful, clear morning and plenty of sunshine.


Madi and Will have been friends since they were 12 years old! They dated in high school before splitting for college, but during Covid, they both ended up back home and reconnected. They've been together ever since, and Will proposed at the summer camp where Madi currently works. I loved hearing their story and the reasons they're excited to marry each other.


Sessions like these always remind me that connecting with my clients and genuinely getting to know each other is SO much more important than just getting a few nice photos and calling it a day. You can feel their love and joy for each other in the photos, and that's the beauty of creating an experience that feels natural rather than staged. The best images happen when people feel seen, known, and comfortable enough to be themselves.


Every couples shoot leaves me feeling so grateful for what I get to do. Getting a front-row seat to stories like Madi and Will's is such a gift!
